Maverick Youngblood

Linosinean

70 years old

Pirate/Adventurer

Personality

The epitome of a man, and a debonair swashbuckler. Not so much the last part, but definitely what a man should aspire to is what he has done. Though, that doesn't mean he is the boring type, not at all. He does everything that can be thought of and something that aren't. He will take any drinking challenge man or woman, but he has had years of practice to build up a powerful tolerance. He travels around in his ship and only steals from the corrupt, after all who better to piss off to get a good fight out of?

He enjoys having the company of women, and often flirts with them quite a bit. Though he doesn't objectify them, he holds women with the highest of regards and respects them. However, having a little flirtatious fun isn't disrespectful, right? The man tends to act more like someone would think of a Dra'ken as he enjoys fighting and testing his mettle with the best of them. He tends to have a bit of a temper when it comes to certain things. Should he feel that someone is being a bit of a jackass, he will let his mouth or another appendage get him into trouble. The man is a trouble seeker at heart, so why not stir things up when the opportunity arises?

He has no qualms about races, creed, color, sex, or any silly thing like that. Should anyone want to give him a go, then he'll be happy to test his luck and skill. He also has a nasty habit of gambling, even when the situation should be dire, he gambles as if he hadn't a care in the world. To put it simply, the man is quite unique in his own ways. As a leader of the crew, he tends to put the lives of his men above his own. what good is a leader without followers?

Though he tends to act more like a child might as well, thinking of living for the moment and having fun. Trying to make people laugh and enjoy life, rather than be miserable and down trotten all the time. Which is why he tends to be a friendly man, and inspire those around him to better themselves. After all, even if it's one person at a time, if changes are made to make it a better world than why not give it a try? One never knows the outcome unless they try for themselves. This is probably the reason he gambles as well, as it requires taking a chance and making luck a big factor.

Appearance

While not much of one to stand out with the way he looks, his height tends to give him a slight edge in being noticed, whether good or bad. Standing at a fair height of six feet and two inches, he has a rather large stature almost fitting of one with the size of his personality. His muscles are easy to spot, but not more than average, much to his chagrin as he has trained a long time to get more definition to them. His body just won't cooperate and he appears to have an average build, however, this should not be taken as he has average strength. Despite this it isn't hard to see that he is a seasoned fighter with the way he carries himself. Just looking at him you can see that he has an air of confidence....as well as the weapons he carries, those tend to help with that image. He tends to carry two falchion swords and two guns, one clockwork pistol and a short lever-action rifle.

They say that the eyes are the window to the soul, but in Maverick's case, his face tends to show his emotions clearly. His eyes being a emerald green in color, are clear to look into and see what he is feeling. His teeth are well taken care of despite what one might expect of a pirate/adventurer. His nose is properly proportionate with his face and often compliments his characteristics. The most noticeable aspect of his face, however, is a rather large scar that crosses the bridge of his nose running under his left eye. Adorning his head and giving off the more rogue-ish look that makes the man, is long scarlet colored hair that reaches down to the middle of his back. His hair is also unbound, allowed to flow around freely, and sometimes used as a distraction.

Moving down his body, which is clothed for you dirty-minded people, he often wears a white or black short-sleeved silken shirt. Over his shirt, he wears a dark green overcoat, which reaches down to his thighs in the back. This is usually worn closed so that it is more snug fitting and doesn't restrict his movements while the 'tail' of the coat flaps freely. Moving down to his arms, the coat sleeves stop a little bit over his forearms, leaving the rest revealed. However, even this isn't completely revealed as Maverick tends to wrap bandages around his forearms. Whether this is for something specific or just randomly done by the man is unknown to others.

As we move further down his body, he wears a belt wrapped around his abs, where he keeps his weapons easy to reach. Just below the belt start the tan colored pants that run down and disappear into his brown leather boots. The boots reach up to just under his knees, keeping everything in a simplistic, but still fashionable look.

Background

Born and raised into a normal family, he spent his days eing taught the rules of society and how to properly behave. However, his father was somewhat of a hypocrite in the sense that he told Maverick not to upset the higher class people, but did so when they attempted to harm people for no reason. This was one of the traits of his father that he picked up from the start. Regardless of how angry his parents got with it, he would always cause some sort of mischief with the noble-types, mostly those that mistreated people. His parents had raised him to treat people the same way as he wanted to be treated. Though his father did tell him to never mistreat a woman, but flirting with them was alright. So, whenever he saw a friendly noble, he would be friendly. A corrupt noble? He would do everything in his ability to piss them off in some fashion.

Sadly, this often met with repercussions once in a while in the form of taxes and other similar punishments. He knew he couldn't do anything more directly, as he didn't have the ability at the moment. So, packing his things as he turned 16, he set out across the land to learn how to fight. Going from place to place and searching for anyone that might be able to teach him how to fight or any other skills that might be useful. That was when he met up with a band of thieves. They didn't harm people, but they did steal from all the nobles, not exactly the best choice, however the skills came in handy. Stealth, picking locks, and the like; all useful in their own ways and for different things. With the skills he learned, he left the thieves and continued his journey. Learning how to wield swords and eventually guns. Having heard of a member of the Dra'ken race Lazarus, he decided to travel across the sea to learn fighting from him as well. At first he refused him, he didn't even really acknowledge him in the beginning. Although a few of the more....temperamental ones tended to make snide comments.

However, this did not deter Maverick, this just made him try harder, coming back everyday with the same request. While this tended to catch the attention of a few kinder Dra'ken, it only served to stir the ire of the already irritable members. They gave him a warning as he headed off for the night; Should he return, they would make sure that he would not be able to bother anyone else. A slightly mischievous smirk had appeared as he continued off for the night. Despite the threat, he returned, walking towards the training area. When he arrived he was greeted by the same people from the day before, each one with an equally angered look on their faces. They decided to try their luck against him, and while he hadn't had a lot of experience with fights, he did have speed to his advantage. After all, a thief with no speed, is simply a corpse. After a rather large fight, both sides having wounds, the man he had been searching for came out to where the commotion had been. Lazarus agreed to teach him the basics of Dra'ken fighting, just to get Maverick to leave. It was a fair deal at least, and one that he would keep his end of it.

After the basics were learned, Maverick traveled around the world traveling by sea to learn more about the basics of fighting from various places. He would return to the Dra'ken islands only to have Lazarus help him perfect the basics. It was part of the deal after all, the basics and that was it. From there, he would fight and define his own style, participating in various tournaments and matches. With all the traveling at sea he had done though, he had grown accustomed to life at sea, it was probably the one thing that was always an adventure in and of itself. Scraping together all the money he could, he bought his own ship and began to sail the seas. Gathering money and people that wanted to travel with him on the free seas. Eventually becoming pirates and taking the fights to the corrupt nobles that he came across. Stealing from them and giving money to whoever really needed it. Eventually earning himself a rather high bounty, and a notorious reputation amongst the noble class.
